This, in recent times has become the right attraction for modern homes around the world.

ORGANISATION

“CHENKUMARTEX” a handloom weavers cooperative society started its function of 1^st May 1971 with 351 members. Our founder President was late Shri.M.S.K.Nataraj. B.A.B.L., His hand  sincere effort brought our institution as the best Cotton Handloom weavers cooperative society in India with 774 weavers on roll today. Our society is giving continous employment to 1500 families in and around Chennimalai, Erode District. Tamilnadu.

Thiru.P.Tamilselvan, Assistant Director of Handlooms & Textiles is working as Managing Director from 27.02.2021 to Till Date and a duly elected board has been constituted and taken charge from 28.03.2018 F.N.

Commitment to quality is a way of life, where every material from the yarn and dyestuffs to the finished goods are made to undergo quality checkups. We have a team of controllers to monitor the quality from the raw materials stage. Till the goods are packed for shipment.

In today’s world being competitive an important as being innovative. Chenkumartex supported by highly effective management and efficient members has steadily integrated all elements needed to be competitive. We also developed PIT looms to FRAME looms which are latest in Handloom Fabrics.

Chenkumartex has one of the largest Independent AZO Free processing house it boasts of latest colour matching unit and designing department that ensures perfection to meet the global customer requirements.

The society was awarded a Gold Medal by the Institute of Self Defense and National Character Academy to the Management of the Chenkumar Weavers Co-operative Society in appreciation and recognition of the outstanding performance in the manufacturing of Handloom products during 1983.

The society has been selected as the best weavers Co-operative society by the Tamilnadu Co-operative Union for the year 1982-83, 1989-90, 1993-94, 1996-97, 2003-04, 2004-05 & 2008-09 shields were also awarded.

Further the society also got the first prize in the newly started scheme of awarding of Prizes to talented handloom weavers state level competition for the year 1993,1994 & 1997. The designer and Weaver who developed the new designs has been awarded with cash incentive of Rs. 15000/- and also honored with shield and ponnadai. The Society has also got the first and second prize for the year 2001-02 & 2003-04 for the above scheme.

The society has also been selected for the first prize (Gold) for the National Awards to primary handloom weavers co-operative societies for the year 1993-94. The Gold shield was presented on 2.5.95 at New Delhi. The Society also got the second prize for BEST EXPORTERS AWARD during 1999. The society has received cash award of Rs. 5,000/- from Tamilnadu Handloom Weavers Co-operative Society Ltd, Chennai for its best designs for the year 1999-2000.

Recently, the society has been selected as one of the best weavers Co-operative production and sale society in Tamilnadu and to that effect a shield has been awarded with on the occasion of the 58^th Co-op. week celebrations held on 20.11.2011 at A.K Mahal, Thiruvanaikovil, Trichirapalli.b Our society is working Continuously Profit from.1971 Our society has been selected as Best Society for National Award among the Primary Handloom Weavers Cooperative Societies in the year 1993-94.  Further our society has got many Awards and Shields for the design excellence and performance in District and State Level.
